Begun in 1996, the
Art Museum Project has been entrusted with the mission of extending the
appreciation of art and culture to the communities served by the
University of Michigan - Dearborn. This includes our students,
faculty and staff, as well as residents and visitors from outside
communities.
The Project was endorsed by the late Alfred Berkowitz, working in partnership with the University. With the help of many hands, the Project has built the Alfred Berkowitz Gallery, expanded the Fine Art Associates, and developed and delivered programs in arts and culture that have involved thousands of art lovers. Contemporary artists exhibit at the Gallery...new works are added to the collection...art tours are conducted in cooperation with the Fine Art Associates...in lectures and studio programs, students, staff, and faculty get involved alongside visitors and artists. The Art Museum Project brings these and many other cultural resources to campus. |
